Kunzite: Is this real?
My friend gave me a kunzite pendant of approximately 3 inches long and about 1 inch wide. I've been searching the Internet to find some information. But most I saw was kunzite pink / pale pink. This is quite confusing as my kunzite is lavender in color. My friend get purple for coz she knows that my fav color is purple. My question here: 1) Is there any difference between kunzite pink or purple? Especially when talking about metaphysical healing? 2) And what is more rare and harder to find, the one with kunzite pink or purple? The previous answer is correct as far as it goes. Yes Kunzite is a natural stone, is a variety of spodumene, which was named after George Frederick Kunz the famous mineralogist. Kunzite is a mineral dichroic which means that they seem to have different colors when looked at from different directions along the crystal. Looking along kunzite c axis gives a dark purple color more. Kunzite is often in these days of radiation to improve its darker color so it is, this treatment is permanent, but all the colors in kunzite is not very stable and the stone can dispel evil if left in bright sunlight or too hot, so be careful where you leave your jewelry kunzite.
